How much will the breast shrink after getting implants?

Question

I am due to have my BA on March 19 and I am still unsure about size. I am a petite woman, 5'0, about 105lbs. I am a small A looking to go to a small C. I'm afraid that because I am so hesitant about being "too big" I will end up getting implants that are small, and then once I am healed the size will look even smaller. I know it may be hard to distinguish but would 275cc make me about a C cup? And how much will I shrink once fully healed?

Unfortunately,
you have not told us your bra size just your cup size.  If you are 32 or 34 each 100 cc’s of implant
corresponds to 1 cup size change.  If you
are 36 or 38 each 200 cc’s of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change.  From this, you can compute the volume
required to achieve your desired goal.  I
always recommend small round textured silicone gel implants placed
retro-pectoral since they look and feel more natural, are more stable, less
likely to ripple or have complications needing revision.  Implant profile is irrelevant in the
retro-pectoral position since the muscle compresses it.  The breasts will not shrink after
augmentation unless there is a major injury to the blood supply.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to answer your question especially without pictures. You should have another discussion with your plastic surgeon and undergo either sizing or better yet Vectra 3-D analysis to see what the desired implant size will look like on your body after surgery. I find this very helpful in discussing breast implants sizing with patients for breast augmentation

Unfortunately your questions are impossible to answer. No one can predict how much you will swell nor what cup size you will be. You should go back to your plastic surgeon and re size. What you see with the implants in your bra is fundamentally what you will look like. If 275 looks good to you, then that is the right answer.

When wondering, its best to use external sizers in an unlined bra and realize that 10% usually must be added to that size to give you the look you saw.  The biggest complaint I have had in my career is I wish I went bigger, but understand I live in California.  But when torn between 2 adjacent sizes, always go with the bigger one as the difference is so minimal and will hardly be appreciated.  You could say the same about going with the smaller size but then the 'I wish I went bigger' thoughts come back.

It is difficult to determine bra cup size based upon implant volume.  A rough guide would be for you to do a baggy test to see if it is what you want.
