Why does my lipo "still" hurt so badly?

Thanks for the great question. The amount of discomfort is dependent on many different factors. Patients who have larger amounts of fat removed tend to have more discomfort for longer periods of time. The hardness you're having is normal after liposuction. This may take 1-2 months to soften up. The numbness will also improve with time. Most patients find they are much more comfortable when wearing some type of compression garment after surgery. The healing process takes time. Its not unusual to have pain and swelling at the liposuction sites. It may take 2-3 months for most of the swelling to go down. It may even take as long as 6 months before sensation and appearance return to normal. Lymphatic massage is also very helpful to accelerate healing and desensitize the painful areas. Wearing a waist trainer or compression garment is good for the trunk.
