Thank you for your question. If you are in good health, you should be fine flying after sclerotherapy. However, it’s best to check with your general physician. If you do fly after getting sclerotherapy, wear compression stockings to encourage optimal blood circulation in your legs.
Make sure to wear your compression stockings, stay well hydrated, and move around as often as possible. (Which is good advice for anyone traveling long distances for circulation). Taking aspirin once a day beginning a day or two before, during, and for a day or two after travel is also a good idea.
Thank you for your question in regards to sclerotehrapy. You can fly after sclerotherapy, although compression stockings are highly recommended to be wore during this time. It is best to follow up with your provider to discus their specific post-care instructions and protocol. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps!
You are fine to fly after Sclerotherapy, but I would follow up with your Doctor about their protocols regarding compression. Best, Dr. Emer
Essentially, after sclerotherapy try to avoid strenuous exercise such as weight training, and wear your compression stocking for a period of 1 week during the day or if you are traveling. Say out of direct sunlight for 4 weeks following the treatment and wear sun block to prevent hyper pigmentation if you are outside. It can take up to 2 months to see full results; however, most patients need between 2 to 6 treatments to see improved appearance. All the best,
You could fly the next day after sclerotherapy but if it is sclerotherapy for large tributaries, I would make sure that you get a venous Doppelr ultrasound 3-5 days after your procedure. Make sure you exercises your legs to prevent travel DVT (deep vein thrombosis). See link below for leg exercises.
You should be fine to fly right after your treatment. The only worry would be Sun exposure. We recommend no sun exposure for two weeks in order to decrease the possibility of staining of the skin while healing. It's best to ask your provider on their recommendations first. Best of luck to you!
Thank you for your question. You should be ok to fly after one treatment however I recommend wearing compression stockings during the flight. Please follow up with your provider for more information.
I recommend waiting to fly for 1 week after sclerotherapy but if flying earlier is a necessity then wear the compression hose while flying and take an adult aspirin the night before the flight.
