HiThanks for the question. Massage is not required for every BBL. It is not required at all, it is a surgeon preference thing. "Theabove answer has been given without seeing this patient and cannot be substitutedfor actual in-person examination and medical advice,; it is only opinion. Seekin-person treatment with a trained medical professional for appropriatecare."
Hello and thank you for your question. Lymphatic massage is not required after BBL. Be sure to talk to your board certified plastic surgeon and see what protocol enables the best results in their patient protocol. I hope this helps!Sincerely,Dr. Sean Kelishadi
This is not a requirement but some patients do find it useful in getting down the swelling faster. Ask your PS about it.
My practice is devoted exclusively to various forms of liposuction and fat transfer. We do not ask any of our patients to engage in massage after these procedures. If patients want to have massage after liposuction they can do so barring that it does not cause any discomfort. For a BBL or any fat grafting procedure massage is a big no-no on any of the areas that were fat grafted. I can't think of a better way to lose the grafted fat than to massage it.in order for the fat to survive you want to do the opposite.Avoid pressure and immobilize the area.I would absolutely not engage in massage in an area treated with fat grafting or fat transfer.Ask your plastic surgeon what he or she recommends.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
Anything done outside of where your recovering and your board certified plastic surgeons office while your drains are still in place isn't recommended. Once your drains are removed and your ps clears it, that would be when you can have some lymphatic massage.Thank you for your question and happy...
Your surgeon is the best person to answer this question. If he/she said it was ok to start then do so. The masages may reduce your pain.
First of all I would do anything that wasn't approved personally by your own surgeon. Having said that, lymphatic massage for hastening convalescence is basically nonsense. Massage it's to vigorous can actually create tissue damage and should be avoided.
