Is it okay to get Restylane Lyft in my chin 4 months after getting Voluma in the exact same place?

Filler can be "stacked" ontop of other fillers and don't necessarily have to be from the same filler family.  Each filler has unique properties making it different from others.  Restylane Lift and Voluma are compatible.  Best Dr. Shah

Thank you for your question.  Yes, Restylane Lyft can be injected to the chin following previous Voluma injections.  Four months is a sufficient time for Voluma to incorporate and adding or laying filler is often a helpful way to obtain optimal results.  Both Restylane Lyft and Voluma are HA fillers, however Voluma is engineered with tighter cross-linking of the molecules. Restylane Lyft has a higher G Prime than Voluma and may give more projection to the chin.   If seeing a new injector, let them know what product has been used in your face and your desired goals as this will help him/her select the best product and technique for you.  Be aware that injection to the chin is off label use of Restylane and Voluma.  Best of luck! Yes, this is perfectly fine. I think it's a good idea to try a different product as it sounds like Voluma was not as noticeable. Lyft has a higher G prime an should work better for you. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)

Voluma and Restylane Lyft are similar hyaluronic acid fillers so adding Lyft to Voluma will not be a problem.  

Hello there,Thank you for your question.  It's 100% okay to intermix the 2 products as they are both HA fillers.  Through experience, both products last and lift equally.  Each company will find reasons to show that one is better than the other but it's kind of like deciding between a BMV or Mercedes- both are great cars, but some people prefer one over the other.  You will still get a great result using either product.  If you love the look, I would recommend looking into getting Bellafill in the chin.  It's a product that currently has a 5 year indication (though it's known to last longer) and is injected just like HA fillers are.  Just make sure you have a board-certified physician who is experienced in using the product do your injections.  Hope this helps.All the best,Carlos Mata, MD, MBA, FACSBoard-Certified Plastic Surgeon

Restylane Lyft and Voluma are both hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers.  It is not uncommon for providers to "layer" different HA fillers over time.  The products are compatible and layering the two would not cause any issues.  Both products are excellent for chin augmentation.

It is perfectly fine to layer Voluma and Restylane Lyft.  They are both hyaluronic acids.  Often times we inject one filler on the bone then inject another filler more superficial to create more projection.  This is especially necessary in the chin (an area that needs more projection if a patient has a recessed chin).  Actually Voluma is "thicker" or more "volumizing" than Restylane Lyft.  Voluma has a higher G prime than Restylane Lyft.  Best of Luck!

Juvederm Voluma and Restylane Lyft are both hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. They are compatible together. 
We sometimes use Bellafill for chin augmentation. It contains PMMA microspheres which provide a scaffold that supports your own natural collagen production as it develops over time. And the longevity is greater than 5 years  
You should know chin augmentation is an off label use for any of these fillers.

These two filler products are both made mostly of hyaluronic acid and therefore are safe to use together in the way you describe. Restylane Lyft has a higher “G-prime”, which means the lift that one can see in the mid to lower face by injecting the product in the cheeks is more so than with other products. You should be aware that injection of the Restylane Lyft in the chin is off-label.

Thank you for your question.  There is no contraindication to receiving Restylane Lyft treatments in the same area as prior Voluma injections.  Both Restylane Lyft and Voluma are hyaluronic acid fillers, and should not react with each other at all.  The stiffness of fillers is measured as their G' (pronounced G prime).  Restylane Lyft's G' is approximately double that of Voluma, meaning that it is a significantly thicker and stiffer filler.  That said, even though it feels stiffer, I find that Restylane Lyft lifts approximately as well as Voluma.  While Lyft does last a long time with deeper injections, I personally find that Voluma does last a little longer for most patients.  I hope this helps!
