There is a dent in my hip after BBL, will it smooth out? 1 month post-op.

Since you are only 4 weeks, it is still early in the whole healing phase. There is still a lot of swelling present. I'd recommend watching this area and telling your doctor about it (or his nurse) because it's too early to know if it will improve or remain. Even if it does remain, stay positive as more fat in that area might easily improve or eradicate it. Good luck!

The most common things that would cause such an indentation would be trauma to the area and subsequent fat necrosis, post steroid injection, or post surgery, which is a kind of trauma.   Dimples may be the result of lumpy fat deposits, swelling, or fat necrosis.  This will probably improve with healing; if not, fat transfer works well to fill in the dent.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
