The critical time for healing of the liposuctioned areas and the transferred fat is the first six weeks. Once the initial resorption phase occurs during the first 4 to 6 weeks, the results are permanent. I do not recommend anything strenuous for that first 6 weeks. Swelling in the areas of liposuction takes 6-8 weeks minimum to go down but 6 months to a year to be fully resolved.
