I have a large indentation on my right buttock. Fat placement? (photos)

The indentation can be due to trauma or injection. Sometimes people present deep skin attachment that creates a puckering or grooves. In any case, the fat injection can be an option but needs to be combined with deep release of the retaining fibrous band, performed at the same time. It should be followed with careful protection and immobilization of the area for up to 6 weeks.

I suggest you see an expert.  This can be improved with fat grafting and stem cell placement over time.  It will need a few treatments and subcision at the same time will help more.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I would recommend fat grafting for this problem.  It may be you received a steroid injection which can cause fat atrophy.  Fat grafting should fix this problem provided  other medical issues are not present.

Hello, thank you for the helpful photos. The large indentation on the right buttock can be treated by harvesting some healthy fat from your belly or inner thighs and then transferring the fat to the indent. The dimple on your left buttock looks like a cellulite dimple which can also be corrected by a procedure called cellfina that works by releasing the tight fiber that is causing the dimple. Of course, an in office consultation is necessary to be properly evaluated.

Fat Grafting os the best solution for this problem.  I have fixed many indentations with Fat Grafting on various parts of the body.  This is the best long term solution.  I may require a scar release at the same time if there is much scar tissue present.  The fat needs to be layered in for the best result and a permanent result as well.  Good luck.

Thank you very much for your question. I agree with everyone else that fat grafting would definitely help. Fat grafting will improve both volume and contour to give you a desirable result. With that said, I would recommend consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for formal evaluation. Depending on the quality of the skin/scar, you may need to have the scar broken up (subcision) prior to fat grafting. Best of luck to you!
