What is this bump on nose after rhinoplasty in November 2021? (Photos)

I had the Rhinoplasty in November 2021. It’s finally starting to look less swollen but I noticed a couple months after the surgery that a bump has formed. It’s very noticeable in some lighting - my question is what is it? How can I fix it? My surgeon looked at it 9 months Post op and he said it should go away and if it doesn’t then I’d need surgery to potentially remove it? I’m looking for a second opinion. Thank you

Hello! I see what you're talking about. It could be a bony spur or spicule left from filing during a hump reduction or osteotomies. If the area is compressible and soft, it could be swelling. Compressions and taping can help to determine if improvements will be made. If the area is firm like bone, then a repeat procedure to file the area down would likely be needed. I agree with waiting through 12 months to determine your full healing. Hope this helps!

The part of your nose where the bump lives is called the rhinion, and that's where your skin is thinnest, so irregularities here are common. You're looking at and feeling an edge of bone or cartilage. Depending on your condition, instead of surgical removal, sometimes we can camouflage bumps like this with microdroplet Silikon-1000.
