I have Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) which is caused by genetic mutations that result in abnormal collagen structure. This affects basically all tissues in the body including the skin and blood vessels which are typically weaker than usual. It also results in poor / slow / abnormal wound healing. I am prone to keloids due to this. I gained a lot of weight due to extreme pain and disability due to injuries from hEDS + other chronic illnesses, but fortunately have lost 80 lbs on Zepbound. However, now I'm noticing skin laxity and creepiness particularly in my inner thighs and abdomen, plus my forehead skin moves more than it used to and I have deep lines on my neck and chest. I've also always had protruding under eye bags since I was a child. I'd like to have a non invasive skin tightening treatment done in all of these areas, and I've read that treatments such as Ultherapy and HIFU have the greatest impact since they target the SMAS. However I'm concerned that these can also reach blood vessels which hEDS can cause to be weak. I think mine are somewhat weak since I have low blood pressure and heart rate (BP 90/60s, pulse low 50s), and I saw a case report from 2022 that a women with EDS developed a carotid artery dissection from HIFU on her neck. So are these procedures all unsafe for me or are there any safe ones or only safe in areas away from arteries? Or only done by a plastic surgeon again, etc? Thanks for any advice!
