I just had lipo done 3 months ago. I wear my compression garment faithfully. Is this pooch normal? (Photo)

I am sorry that you are disappointed with your results but from the limited photo you provided, the problem is excess skin.  A compression garment is not going to resolve that issue.  The only treatment for that much excess skin is an abdominoplasty. I occasionally do liposuction on someone who has excess skin but we all understand that we are not going to decrease the skin with the liposuction and that the ideal procedure would be an abdominoplasty.   An abdominoplasty is a much larger procedure than liposuction with the requirement for more time off work and a longer time healing.  Some patients choose to compromise and accept the improvement in contour with liposuction alone while accepting that the excess skin will remain.You are coming to a point where you will need to decide your goals.  If you want the best result, consider an abdominoplasty.  Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon to accomplish these goals.

Liposuction is a fantastic tool for body contouring. Good candidates have
minimal skin laxity and mild to moderate fullness.   You

3 months out it seems like you have some excess skin that may have been there before surgery and was certainly exacerbated by liposuction. It is difficult to make definitive recommendations based on a photo but you will likely need the skin cut out to have the result you are looking for. Hope this helps.

The photograph does not provide a lot of information but there appears to be a surplus of skin creating the abdominal wall prominence. If this is the case then liposuction by itself is not the clinical solution. However at three months there still is swelling so remain patient.

If significant swelling is being create by a compression garment not fitting in the right location, it would be best to try a different compression garment that addresses this area.  Compression garments if worn incorrectly for a long period of time could create creasing that can become permanent.  Make sure to have a follow up with your physician regularly to track results and address any concerns about swelling or compression garments.

Hello dear, thanks for your post and provided information and pictures as well. Based on your pictures I can see that you have extra skin, and after removing the fat it looks more. The combination of a liposuction with the a traditional tummy tuck has
become a very common procedure. It is safe to combine the two procedures
mainly to address the hip and flank areas. This is a very effective way
to extenuate the contour of the waist along with the abdominoplasty. It
is also important to realize that there is usually a limit on how much
fat can be remove in a combined procedure.I recommend have
consultations with a Plastic Surgeon that is board certified and discuss your concern and have yourr questions answered by a well trained professional. Good luck :)

Yes, this "pooch" is the expected outcome 3 months after liposuction in an individual who has pre-existing lower abdomen skin laxity from pregnancy and/or weight loss. When laxity of the skin and/or rectus muscles exist the ideal procedure is a tummy tuck. I would hope you had a thorough examination of this area upon your initial evaluation. I would also hope that all surgical options were discussed with you preoperatively. I suggest you discuss this with your treating doctor. If you are not satisfied with this encounter I recommend you obtain a 2nd opinion by a well qualified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery with extensive body contuoring experience. 

Thank you for the question and the picture.   Looking at your photo it looks like you have loose skin that would have been nicely corrected with a tummy tuck procedure, which includes fat removal  skin tightening (and muscle tightening if needed).   So no it's not normal, good candidates for liposuction don't have the additional issues that were not addressed here.   

Yes normal because you had to WRONG operation! You were NOT a candidate for only Liposuction especially under local anesthesia from SonoBello. Poor diagnosis leads to incorrect operation offered! You needed a full TT with 1 liter lipo.. Lesson learned using a clinica option instead of private practice boarded PSs in Tampa/St Pete! So very sorry for the poor results and the poor decisions from your doctor and yourself.
