I see advertising for fat transfer to the face available as an in-office procedure. I have some minor rippling and divots to a silicone implant based breast cancer reconstruction and a small ridge/shelf where my chemo port had been. I think (hope) I need just a little refining with a bit of fat transfer to finally move past all of this. Can breast cancer patients have this done in-office? Or will surgeons do that only for cosmetic patients?

Nipple flattening is not uncommon. Fillers do not tend to work as it is difficult to add filler due to the amount of scarring present. And they are only temporary. Repeating the nipple reconstruction usually has good results but sometimes the desire projection can not be achieve.

When tissue expanders are present prior to radiation therapy it is sometimes necessary to change the volume of one or both expanders in order to deliver optimal radiation. This is a recommendation that would be made by the radiatin ononcologist. It is not always necessary.
