Can I improve my nose from the front without getting an upturned or "Barbie" nose? (photo)

Question

Hi, Im half Filipino and half Azerbaijanian. I want to have a nose job that isnt a “barbie nose” or an upturned one. My side profile is perfect to me, but i dont like how i look from the front. I have an inspiration picture for the nose that i want. But i wanted to ask if it was possible with my type of nose. Any advice would be great to achieve what i want.

Rhinoplasty may indeed be considered for achieving and narrowing in the upper middle and lower thirds of your nose. Care would need to be taken not to rotate your tip at all, and this is indeed possible, depending on your examination. Wishing you well moving forward. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Fascial grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

From the bottom looking up view, you have a very broad based nose with very little projection. You would need to increase your projection. An open rhinoplasty and septoplasty will be required. You would need cartilage harvested from the septum at the time of surgery.
