Soft threads above lips?

Hi I'm 32 and have a few lines starting above my lips (smokers lines- but I don't smoke) I'm just wondering I was told that soft threads can't cause the puckering the barb ones can is that true? It was advised to use soft threads rather than filler to build up my own collagen and not add unessassary volume. I would do laser but I'm on 20 mg every other day of isotretinoin for some stubborn hormonal acne. Is it okay to do threads on that medication if it's a really light dose? Thank you

Hi there, thank you for your questions. Upon assessment, perioral lines can be treated with monofilament PDO threads which are smooth and mainly for stimulating collagen rather than creating a lift as would barbs/ cogs would. There is a risk of slower healing with the isotretinoin and also susceptibility to UV damage where the PDO threads have been inserted so if you just need to be aware and protect your skin at all times.
