Recommended 230cc textured teardrop implant - concerns I will not get to a C cup? (Photo)

A 230 cc implant is on the small side, but I have had many petite patients quite pleased with implants in this range. I would suggest trying on the implants with a sports bra to see how you are going to look after the procedure. Good luck!

the volume of a particular implant will achieve a different cup size size on different people. the key is to pick the right volume for you, and using a pre op sizing system is a good way to see what volume achieves what look on your frame.
I find this helps patients decide what size implant will meet their needs

Dear Lulu,    Thanks for submitting your picture. From observing your picture, you appear to be perky small A cup size with wide cleavage.   You did not provide your chest circumference measurement in inches, which is critical for the correct selection of implants' size. Let's assume that you are currently  32 small A cup size. To become 32 C cup size , you will need implants with volume of 325 cc. If you follow your surgeon's recommendation , you will become 32 B + only.  You do not have to worry about double bubble deformity, as long as the crease is not lowered excessively. By lowering the crease 1 - 11/2 cm, you can rest assured that you will get a very nice and natural looking 32 C cup breasts by using 325 cc implants.   I do not recommend textured implants because they have thick shell than can be palpable. Also, recently, articles were published about association between textured breasts implants and ALCL - Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. The likelihood is very low, but who needs the worry...   I have been in practice for over 29 years and performed breasts augmentation with implants on thousands of patients . I use almost exclusively and with  great  patients satisfaction, smooth, round, moderate profile, saline implants made by Mentor (thin shell)  that are placed under the muscle through small sub areola incision , which allows for consistent formation of nice cleavage, since it is done  under direct vision and feel.    Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky, symmetrical and natural looking.                                      Best of  luck,                                                                     Dr Widder

for a breast augmentation.  230cc implant is on the smaller side, but many of my patients have been very happy with this size implant. The size, profile, and shape of the
implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall
measurements, and soft tissue quality.  This decision should
be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you
and your surgeon.

Selecting the correct implant  is among the most important decisions in a successful breast augmentation procedure. There are several factors to consider and the placement of the identical implant will not produce the same results in all patients due to differences in:
1. Dimensions of the breast  2. Diameter of the chest 3. Volume of the breast tissue  4. Height and weight 5. Breast shape, including ptosis and asymmetry
I rely on 3 methods to advise my patients: 
1. Dimensional planning  2. Gel implant sizing  3. 3-Dimensional Vectra imaging system.
At the time of consultation, measurements are taken allowing for dimensional planning to select the implant which best fits the base diameter of the breast.  Gel implant sizing is performed to allow you to visualize augmentation with the various sized implants.  Vectra 3-D imaging has been a very important method in my practice in selecting the correct implant size and shape as it allows you to see what you will look like following augmentation with any of the available implants.

I would suggest using 3D imaging to see exactly what you will look like with these implants.  You can make subtle changes in implant size to get exactly what you want.

Based on your photographs you appear to be a great candidate for breast augmentation.  Its difficult to assess what results you could achieve with a 230CC implant as you haven’t provided all of the measurements that are taken into consideration (as well as many other factors) when recommending the best implant size for you.  230CC implants are on the small size but its likely your surgeon has recommended a safe option for you to minimise post operative complications.  You should return to your surgeon for another discussion about the results you expect to achieve from breast augmentation to make sure you are clear before surgery.

Thanks for sending through the images and your goals.yes, it is difficult to give accurate advise without examine you. But I will say that 230cc seems a bit small to achieve the look you are after.Most breast augmentations that are performed involve lowering of the IMF crease, but with careful implant selection and dissection double bubble deformity is minimised.I hope this helps and good luck.

First I want to congratulate you for making this important decision. Deciding to get an aesthetic procedure to change your body and get a new life style is a big step!

Looking at your photos I might say that you´ll be a great candidate to get a breast augmentation with implants. The size of the implant will depend of what you want and what your body support; the results of this procedure are beautiful, giving you and excellent shape of the inner and outer pole of the breast. 

Before all this, of course, you need to get a complete medical evaluation and laboratory exams to check everything is fine. For us your safety, always, is going to be first.

Based on your height and weight, to go up one cup size would take about 150-175cc. Therefore, on average it would take 300-350cc to go up two full cup sizes. Based on your height and body frame, it reach a small C would probable take 270-300cc. There is currently some controversy about the true effectiveness of anatomic "teardrop" implants (see link).
