Any confirmed cases of Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia on thighs after CoolSculpting?

I am going in for CoolSculpting on my inner thighs tomorrow and have an overwhelming fear of PAH. I know the risk is low but still afraid! Does anyone have any confirmed PAH on their thighs? I’ve seen it on abdomen and flanks but not yet read or saw any on thighs.

Hi.  Thank you for the question.  Yes, I have a patient that has PAH on the thighs.  This was seen with the old applicator, not the CoolAdvantage applicator - I think that is the key.  The old applicator used a higher amount of suction pressure than the new applicator does.  Find out for sure that the CoolAdvantage applicator will be used for your treatment - it is a 35 minute treatment, not a 60 minute treatment, per thigh.

PAH is incredibly rare following ANY Coolsculpting session. If this is the one thing keeping you from moving forward, I would say that you should strongly reconsider and proceed with the recommended treatment.

PAH can occur while using any of the original suction applicators whether it be on the abdomen, flanks or thighs. Luckily, if you re being treated with any of the Advantage applicators, you will not run the risk of PAH.
