I recently had 4 applications of cool sculpting on my stomach and 2 on my upper arms (bingo wings). All of them bar one have just numbness and a bit of bruising however one o. The top part of my stomach just under my rib cage is incredibly painful. I feel like I have torn a muscle or have a hernia. It is uncomfortable to even touch lightly, walk or sit down. Is this normal? Should I go to A&E? I have had two natural childbirths so don’t think I am a woos to pain! But this is so sore.
Answer: Abdominal pain after Coolsculpting It sort of depends on how recent the Coolsculpting was done. It is incredibly unlikely that you are suffering from either of the two complications you noted. I highly recommend you contact your Coolsculpting specialist tomorrow to get some more answers from them.

Answer: Pain after Coolsculpting & Results--Add Radiofrequency, Thermage, Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, VASER, ThermiRF Pain can be variable after Coolsculpting. It takes weeks for the swelling and pain to resolve. Oral neurontin and diuretics can help. Keep in mind, for best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. However, Vaser with ThermiRF procedure is the best combination for a toned result, but requires more downtime. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Pain following CoolSculpting Hi Suzieg1973, Pain is not fun! Particularly when you are not sure if it is a problem... Skin numbness is extremely common and bruising may occasionally occur following CoolSculpting. Significant pain (7 out of 10) can often occur in the first week following CoolSculpting. However, the discomfort settles quickly and effectively when treated by a medication called gabapentin. I prescribe 300 mg daily for up to a week. This is something your treating physician can call into the pharmacy. If you are concerned that you may have a hernia it is best to get assessed in person by your physician. Hernias following CoolSculpting would be highly unlikely unless you are treated over an already existing subclinical hernia. Tearing a muscle with CoolSculpting has never been reported. I think the gabapentin should do the trick - best of luck in your recovery!

Answer: Post Cool Sculpting discomfort. Hello Suzieg, Pain can be frustrating, depending on the placement of the applicator and type of applicator used. Isolate cutaneous (skin) nerves can become inflammed during the process of fat removal. This was seen with the older hand pieces. Your provider will be able to manage this for you. Just contact them and explain the situation. This problem normaly resolves within 3-4 weeks after the initial treatment. Best, Roberta Beals
