Is this swelling or residual gland/fat? Gynecomastia surgery (Photo)

Question

I had gyno surgery (lipo and excision) two months ago and am not happy with the results. My nipples feel squishy to the touch, like a balloon filled with water. There is still slight numbness. They appear cone-like in shape (the right one more so). If a doctor could give me some closure as to whether this will resolve or if I would need a revision surgery it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for your pictures. This seems to represent a small amount of breast tissue and or fat that remains. At this point I don't think it will resolve. You will need a revision. Earl Stephenson,Jr, MD,DDS,FACS

From your description you may have a small seroma under the areolar area.  See your plastic surgeon for an evaluation.

It appears you have some residual tissue under the areolas which may require further removal as well as a periareolar skin reduction Two months is too early to judge the final results but I suspect this is not just swelling. You need to wait further until 4 to 6 months before having a revision.

Your chest may still be swollen and you may want to allow it to heal for a few more weeks. If you need a revision, you may have some tissue under the areola or may need to areola reduced a bit.
