Can fillers even out my lower lip? (Photo)

I have a pucker below my lower lip,when I smile it goes away. I’ve had it for several years, but appears more prominent since loosing weight. Can fillers even this out?

Hello! My name is Holly Frandsen and I'm a nurse injector at Amadi Aesthetics Plastic Surgery. Yes, you could use filler to hydrate and even-out your lips. However, you could you also consider putting neurotoxins into your mentalis (chin muscle) to relax the muscle from pulling upward, which can cause a small shelf below the lip. You could also put neurotoxins into the orbicularis oris (muscle around lip) to slightly relax it as well. I typically tell my patients to start with least invasive before they do a treatment that is more invasive.

Adding fillers to the lip may make the pucker less noticeable by better defining the lip border.  See an expert injector near you for an evaluation.  You will want to wait for the swelling to resolve from the injections before determining if the treatment was successful.

Thanks for the photo. You most certainly can try the filler and it should make it less noticeable. If you are not satisfied, there is as easy to dissolve the filler. Another options is to put a little botox as well, but it may interfere with your lip movement and that will bother you.
