Is there a surgery to create a monolid?

Question

Hello, I've been searching for this and there aren't very many answers out there regarding a procedure of this nature. It's very easy to come up with results for double-eyelids but not this... Anyway, I find the monolid to be absolutely gorgeous and just completely beautiful and always have. I was wondering if something like this could be done and what the cost might be? Thanks :)

In even the best of hands changing your lid from a Caucasian creased lid to an Asiatic appearance is challenging and fraught with “recurrences” of the creased position.  I would tell you that it is not likely to have long term good results as it is not the anatomy of your eyelid that could be manipulated appropriately without risk of significant distortion.  Some patients choose Juvederm to efface their eyelid crease but it has other consequences that I would counsel you against in general.

If you have a Western eyelid, then no surgery will achieve for you an Asian configured eyelid.  No amount of fat grafting will do this.  It is well to remember that the eyelid is what it is by virtue of many delicate gliding planes of tissue.  Grafted fat gums this up and causes scar tissue.  There are very delicate eyelid procedures that can make your Western eyelids the best that they can be but transforming them into Asian eyelids is not possible.

It sounds as if you'd like the sweeping Asian-style eyelids. The Asian lid has a distinct fibrous fat pad that is not really there in the western lid. There is also a difference in the attachment of the lid skin and subcutaneous tissue to the tarsal plate. This would be difficult to reproduce, I'm afraid. The deep sulcus of the upper lid that is usually seen in western people can be softened with fat injections, but probably not to the degree that you seek.
