Do I need a new impression and model if I had a crown made that needs to be redone?

If I had a crown made that needs to be redone do I need to have a new impression and model made or can they use the model that was used initially. The crown is cemented on with temporary glue. It fits but the shape and color are off. Just wondering if I need to start all over. Thanks.
