Is it normal to take muscle relaxers for Capsular Contracture Treatment?

My Dr prescribed muscle relaxers to treat capsular contraction. Is this normal ?

There are a variety of things surgeons do to prevent capsular contracture without surgery. I have never heard of muscle relaxers being used.

There is a lot that is not known about capsular contracture.  The most common medication to treat it is Singulair.  If it progresses past a certain stage then surgical correction is recommended.  I encourage you to discuss your questions with your surgeon.  Muscle relaxers are sometimes used during surgical recovery to treat discomfort from placing the implants below the muscle but typically not as a treatment for capsular contracture.

capsular contracture affects people approximately one in 20. No one knows exactly what causes it and what can prevent it completely. It's important for your doctor to use a minimal incision and a Keller funnel as a sleeve to protect the implant from touching anything before goes into the breast pocket. Singulair has been shown to prevent it
