I have always been insecure about my neck and chin. However, I consulted with few docs and they told me I don't need a chin implant. But, I don't like the shape and the appearance of my chin and neck. Do I need a submentoplasty??
Answer: How to contour the jawline and chin Based on your photos, it appears you would be a very good candidate for a chin implant, combined with liposuction to remove the small pocket of submental fat underneath the chin. The implant can be customized to your precise facial proportions, providing a subtle and natural improvement. Liposuction uses microcannulas and gentle suction to remove the fat without damaging the surrounding skin and tissue. The treatments can be performed at the same time using local anesthesia and recovery is typically just a few days to one week. Make sure you work with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon to ensure the best possible result.

Answer: Chin Enhancement: Implant or sliding genioplasty? hello, thanks for your question. The doctors you met suggested you right about not getting a chin implant, it is never a good idea to have foreign material in your facial area due to its increased chances of complications and involved risks. Your have a short chin which is slightly upturned that make you an ideal candidate for osseous genioplasty- the procedure will involve sliding your chin bone downward to give it the desired definition, plus move it to the forward position slightly to enhance your side profile. The results of this procedure will not only be great, but also be permanent and natural without any chances of future complication which is often the case with chin imlants. Also, the osseous genioplasty has an added benefit that it tightens the area under the chin so the slight double chin (submental bulge) also goest away, giving a very nice effect to the overall chin and neck area. In people who have little extra fat uder their chin can benefit greatly if the procedure is combined with a submental liposuction.Choose a surgeon who is board certified and experienced in performing these procedures. All the best.
