A crease in the stomach area can happen for several reasons:

Natural healing and skin contraction: Even with proper compression and weight loss, some areas of the skin may take longer to smooth out. Sometimes minor creases or folds improve gradually over 6–12 months as swelling fully resolves and tissues settle.

Fat distribution or surgical removal: In some cases, the crease may be related to how fat was removed or how the skin was redraped during surgery. It doesn’t necessarily mean the procedure was “botched,” but certain areas can heal with minor irregularities.

Compression garments: These generally help with swelling and contour, but they usually don’t cause permanent creases.

While some improvement may occur over time, persistent creases can sometimes benefit from targeted treatments such as skin tightening procedures, minor revisions, or fat contouring, depending on your individual anatomy.

I know it can be discouraging, but gradual improvement is possible, and understanding the underlying cause helps in deciding the safest approach for correction.
