I had fillers in my lips 5 days ago, today I have noticed after putting on Vaseline that the top edges are a little pale, is this the onset of necrosis? Is there any other symptoms that accompany colour discolouration?

Thankyou for your question. I would suggest if possible trying to find out what you had injected. The fact that it is still present after 5 years it could very well be a permanent filler . You could also see a close by injector and have trial of hyaluronidase to see if anything dissolves. I st...
Hi Shirene,From 20%-80% of fat injected may not develop blood vessels and eventually die. Also, swelling may take weeks to resolve.The downtime is terrible but results are more permanent. You have to wait until the swelling subsides before doing anything definite.All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
