I have hollows under my eyes and get deep wrinkles when I smile, along with bizarre creasing further down on my maxilla. I know it’s a delicate area, so I’m wondering if there’s anything safe and effective that can reduce the appearance of the wrinkling that ages me past my 33 years. I use Tretinoin regularly and have previously tried Botox and Restylane there, with v underwhelming results (not sure if provider/dose/skill issue). Curious but skeptical of infra orbital rim implants. Any tips?
Answer: (love the hair!) Hi forest! First off, love the hair. You are GORGEOUS! Honestly, I barely even see what your concerns are in these photos, although it's hard to tell because I don't know what you looked like prior to restylane / without you smiling. I think your midface volume looks great. The only "crease" that I maybe see is under your eye in the tear trough area; for this, I would consider having a good injector try to see if they can get this area better with filler. But honestly, you look really good and I'm sure most people do not notice this at all!

Answer: Improving Under Eye / Tear Trough with Injectable Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk) -- add Lasers, Microneedling/PRP Fillers like Belotero, Volbella, and Restylane Silk are good for improving under the eyes, but keep in mind that a combination approach will give the most improvement. My patients try to get non-surgical treatments to avoid surgery, so we use fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP and stem cells. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Facial contours From your submitted photos it appears you are a good candidate for fillers. Perhaps your previous results were related to filler selected or perhaps the injector. Another option to consider is Morpheus8 which combines RF technology and microneedling to improve overall skin tone and texture. Visit an experienced provider to learn more.

Answer: Trading tear trough and lower eyelid, wrinkles The photographs you have provided show absolutely NO evidence of a tear trough. The wrinkling in the lower eyelid is simply a genetic manifestation of who you are. You do not need any fillers in the lower eyelid area but if the wrinkles bother you a great deal, you can have what’s called a pinch excision of the excess lower eyelid skin. It is a simple procedure and you’ll be back to yourself in no time whatsoever as long as it’s done by an expert plastic surgeon. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery.
