I recently got rhinoplasty (revision) and before, I did not have a hump on my nose. Now it is over 2 weeks and the swelling has gone down and to my fear the hump shows even more!! My doctor told me not to worry that a few steroid shots show do the trick, should I believe him?

To answer your question: I have performed what we call a "caudal trim" for a hanging columella in my office under only local anesthesia. The body part is basically "external". Good luck.
It appears by your photography that you have dorsal septum which is pushing up under the skin. While you may have thin skin this should not be a problem for revision. You need to consult with an experienced Rhinoplasty surgeon and he/she will explain your options to you.
Compared to dorsal hump reduction, tip counter-rotation and reducing alar retraction are certainly technically more involved maneuvers. Even though they involve more surgery than dorsal hump reduction, for a revision rhinoplasty specialist these are very commonly encountered...
