How long for Fractora results to show and collagen to regenerate?

I had Fractora done almost exactly a month ago, (2/21/17). It was a hard recovery process, leaving me with a ton of VERY large scabs resulting in PIH. Now all the scabs have naturally fallen off but I notice absolutely no difference in my acne scarring. If anything it seems worse. How long will it take for my collagen to start regenerating itself? I'm not sure I want to invest another $800 in a treatment that barely did anything. My acne scarring isn't that deep but i do have a fair amount of it

The first thing I would do when evaluating your scarring is to address the type of scarring you have.  Ice pick scarring is not going to show much if any change after treatment.  Rolling scars on the other hand can be softened with the FractoraRF.  However, you might need to talk to someone who is experienced doing subcision  coupled with the FractoraRF to loosen the contraction of the scar down in the tissue first.  Our patients are always pre-treated with a tyrosinase inhibitor to prevent hyperpigmentation that could be stimulated from any energy device.  A strict post-care protocol is also included in the treatments to give the very best outcome.  Keep in mind that changes should not even be anticipated for at least 3 months after your treatment and multiple treatments are always recommended although each patient may respond differently.  Best of luck to you!

Fractora treatments can improve acne scarring, but in most cases, several treatment sessions are needed to obtain the best results.  It can take 12 weeks to see the results from Fractora, so since your procedure was 4 weeks ago, you could still see some improvement over more time.  I would say it would be unlikely that your result would be satisfactory with only one treatment though.

Thank you for your question. It can take several months to see the full benefit from Fractora for acne scarring. That being said, it can also take several treatments (3-5) to obtain the optimal result. I often combine Fractora treatments with Bellafill for the treatment of acne scarring. Fractora will not be effective on ice-pick scars. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Hi There Thank you for your question.When it comes to scarring there are protocols for Fractora that suggest pre treatment preparation with pigment supressors.
