10 yrs ago i had 300cc salines o/f to 330 bringing me upto a 32C. I had a revision surgery a yr ago due to mild cc in my right breast. Also my salines swapped out for silicones but wanted to stay the same size. I had 375cc HP Mentors inserted and ended up being a 32DD. Would downsizing to 300cc Mod+ make a noticeable difference? The implant diameter would be the same. Also, does it appear I would need a lift by going down 75cc? I am happy with the cleavage just too much projection.
Answer: Capsulectomy can reduce cup size At size 32 each 100 cc's of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. Decreasing your implant by 75 cc's would take you down 3/4 cup size. However, since you have a capsular contracture it is possible that the surgeon would be excising the capsule and tissue would be removed. If the capsulectomy removes 100 cc's then you would go down about 2 cup sizes from 32 DD to a 32 C. I recommend a circumareola approach with a simultaneous lift. Aligning the areola, breast tissue and implant over the bony prominence of the chest wall maximizes anterior projection with a minimal size implant. Small silicone gel implants placed retro-pectoral look and feel more natural, are more stable, less likely to ripple or have complications needing revision. Implant profile is irrelevant in the retro-pectoral position since the muscle compresses it and determines projection.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Implant revision 75 cc will not make a huge difference in projection or size. But that being said, I think that it is most important to address your issues of capsular contracture. Best of luck.

Answer: Dr. Kimberly Henry First of all, you look really nice!! However, if you want less projection, going to a moderate profile smaller implant such as a 300cc would definitely give you want you want. I would even suggest compromising and choosing a 325cc implant moderate profile. You do not need a lift. Keep in mind that plastic surgery is an art, not an exact science! So maybe 325s would have more fullness than you would like, then you could go down to a 300. It all depends, but if you would like to see some photos, check out our website at drkimberlyhenry.com and give us a call or an email! We would love to help!

Answer: Downsizing your imlpants It is approximately 175 cc per cup size (closer to 150 cc per cup size if you are very thin and closer to 200 cc per cup size if your chest is wider). On your frame, therefore, going down 75 cc should decrease your cup size somewhere between 1/3 - 1/2 cup size. Going to a moderate plus implant would also decrease your forward projection. It does not appear you would need a lift. Your nipple position is above the infra-mammary fold currently, and decreasing 75 cc should not cause the breasts to drop very much.

Answer: 75 cc change in implants A 75 cc change in implants is not a large amount. I am not sure a 75 cc drop in size is worth the surgery. Good luck.
