Hi! I just had my second BA consultation! I am so excited, but now OF COURSE started second guessing the profile! What I have chosen out right now is 415 cc round textured high profile silicone breast implants. I really desire a full, firm, round look. Now, I am very tall and athletic. 5'11'' and 150 lb, with a 34" diameter around my breasts. I DO NOT like when implants look too high, like all top boob! I don't know if I'm narrow enough for high, but I don't want to look too wide with moderate.
Answer: Implant Choice While the discussion of different profiles and implants is lengthy and important. It is extremely important to discuss these issues with your plastic surgeon during consultation. There are too many variables to account for over the internet without an exam. I do have one thought for you to consider as you go through this process- shaped implant. Based on your desire above "I DO NOT like when implants look too high..." a really good choice for a natural appearance is a shaped implant. Not everyone is a good candidate for this thought and only your examining plastic surgeon can help you decide what is appropriate for you.Best of luck!!‘This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion. Seek in-person treatment with a trained medical professional for appropriate care.’

Answer: Contradictory Statements Your description of what you want and don't want is somewhat contradictory. It sounds like you need to have an additional appointment with your surgeon to discuss the implications of implant size, more existing breast shape and profile on your Postop appearance.

Answer: Implant profile considerations This is a subtle point in implant decision making - a high profile implant will give you more volume on a smaller implant foot print. The HP implant will also give you more projection. We size our patients using the dimensions of their existing breast as a guideline for implant volume and profile selection. Its not an arbitrary decision.

Answer: Breast augmentation implant choice The best cosmetic result in any particular breast augmentation patient depends on a variety of factors, including: your individual anatomy, realistic expectations, a thorough discussion with the plastic surgeon about the options, and an understanding of the pros and cons of any particular implant choice. Proper sizing is not just about the number of cc’s. The thickness of your tissue, breast dimensions which include the width, height, and projection, as well as chest wall width all need to be considered when choosing an implant. Trying on implant “sizers” of various shapes and volumes while wearing a tight t-shirt, bra, or bathing suit at a preoperative visit will help you and your surgeon choose the optimal implant. Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest that your plastic surgeon be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California

Answer: Should I try moderate profile instead of what I have chosen so far... 415 cc high profile round textured silicone? (photos) From the information you have provided, you may want to look at a narrow, anatomically shaped implant. The classic profile Sientra implant has a desirable shape and is softer in my opinion than other options.
