I decided on 500ccs but am getting discouraged with answers that they wont fit. I am wondering why some Drs are able to fit big implants in girls with same stats and others will not . I am going with mentor HP and the chart says they are 13.2cm width and my PS did not seem to have a problem with the size he said they wouldn't look as natural but still great. I am just curious as to why some think it will not be a good size for me and if 475ccs would be better or even make a difference.
Answer: Will 500cc fit? I am petite 5'1" and 103lbs 32A but my breasts do not completely fill cups. My BWD was measured as 13cm 25 cc is a difference that is visually insignificant.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA..............

Answer: Physical Exam Stats are only part of the picture. A physical exam is an important part of knowing what will fit. Your surgeon is in the best position to answer the question as he has all of the pieces of th puzzle.

Answer: Vectra 3D imaging helps with choosing implant sizes A 500cc implant is on the larger size for someone that is 5’1’’ and 103 lbs.Unless you are trying to fill out a lot of excess skin and not have a lift or you are looking to “look like you have had a breast augmentation” those may be a bit big on your frame. This being said, I have not seen your pictures.Looking at a 475cc instead of the 500cc is not really going to make a difference all. If you are looking for a larger implant you also need to understand the increased risks down the road associated with going that large with such a small frame. If you are still going in that direction I would suggest Vectra 3D imaging like we do in our office so you can look at that implant size on a 3D image of yourself.I would also suggest going with an Allergan style 45, which is very high profile to keep the implant narrow and still give you the volume you are looking to have.Good luck!

Answer: Will 500cc fit? I am petite 5'1" and 103lbs 32A but my breasts do not completely fill cups. My BWD was measured as 13cm Thank you for the question. Online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice to be truly helpful. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, and computer imaging) will be critical. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers. I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes.

Answer: Choosing an implant, choosing a surgeon, getting the best results The best way to determine the size that fits your personal perception of the perfect breast is to try on sizers. This way you can see how they fit on you, how they add to your current volume, and whether they fit your frame. Although the surgeon can guide you, only you will be able to tell what is the right size. Try on sizers. Measuring a diameter and then telling the patient what volume they can have (in high, moderate or moderate plus implants) in my mind is backwards. The patients should be allowed to choose the volume. Then the surgeon carefully considers the base diameter, projection, profile, manufacturer, and fill material that will achieve the patients goals of size as well as qualitative look (natural, intermediate, or bold upper pole fullness or projection), all the while taking into consideration the patient's anatomic features that will affect the outcome. The experience of the surgeon and the degree to which they explain the options to you is of utmost importance. The subtlety in the final outcome is not achieved by which profile implant is used, it is determined by the skill in the creation of the pocket, the choice of implant. If you try sizers on and like the 500, that is the right choice. Don't let the doctor tell you what would look good on you. They cannot tell what you perceive to be the best size. There is no maximum. That is up to you.
