Restylane Skinbooster for rehydration of dry skin can cause lumps?

First of all, you can relax. If true, hyaluronic acid-base skin boosters have been used, there is little to worry about. In Israel, where I have a satellite practice and where these products are regulatory agency approved, I have been successfully using, for many years already, injectable Restylane Skin Boosters, Princess Filler, and more recently, Profhilo, for hydrating the skin, smoothing crepey, crinkly skin, and for skin tightening of the skin of the face, neck and decolletage.. (In my Upper East Side Manhattan practice, due to FDA sluggishness in approving so many products that have achieved regulatory agency approvals in Canada, the EU, and Israel years earlier), I have been relying on Belotero Balance for these indications). Properly performed, either with needle or cannula, in a grid-like microdroplet technique or a fanning one, significant skin hydration, smoothing, and skin tightening (via bio-remodeling, as a result of secondary stimulation of new, native collagen and elastic fiber synthesis), the results of this approach are extremely gratifying, both immediately following treatment, and even more so, four to six weeks later, when maximal new collagen and elastic fiber synthesis have taken place. The bumpiness you describe is very unusual with boosters, but can be very simply remedied with the injection of a tiny microdroplet of hyaluronidase into each bump. These bumps are especially sensitive and responsive to the hyaluronidase, since the products used for skin boostering (aka "bio remodeling") are not cross-linked. Alternatively, you can wait for the skin boosters to dissolve on their own, which, since you have only undergone one treatment, should occur within a couple of months and hastened a bit with daily massage. (Skin Booster treatments, for maximal effect and prolonged duration of effects, typically require between two to three treatment sessions). It should go without saying that you should seek out a board certified, core, aesthetic physician and you should vet the physician well in order to make sure that he/she has the appropriate experience and expertise. Thanks for your question.  Restylane Skinboosters are a wonderful way to deliver hydration to the skin and small amounts of hyaluronic acid to improve the texture and tone of the skin.  These need to be given by skilled injectors and we recommend that you have them performed in the offices of board certified dermatologists or plastic surgeons or the equivalent in your country.  If the injections are too superficial, small bumps can occur. You have 2 options – do nothing and they will go away on their own in several months – up to 6-9 months in some cases.  Or have hyaluronidase injected – one of the safest things we have in cosmetic dermatology to make HA fillers go away.  It will not stay permanently – but will go away on its own or with help – whichever is best for you.
