At 3 weeks post-op everything should be healed, and clipping the hair to any length should not pose a problem.
Your donor area should be healed so you can use a hair clipper to trim your hair. If the donor area is not completely healed, it is best to contact your surgeon for post surgery issues and care since all doctors have slightly different instructions.
Typically for our patients after the 4th day you may get a hair cut and can resume most activities. As for clippers, as long as scabs are gone and all wounds have healed you may do this as soon as 7 to 10 days.... depending on if you are a fast healer. Hair coloring also follows this general rule....wait until all scabs/wounds have healed then proceed.
After 3 weeks post-op, all grafts and donor sites should be well healed. The clipper will have no negative effects on hair or scalp if done without excessive scalp trauma.
