Question

I’m 51 years old. I’ve tried Sculptura in the past but didn’t really see any results. This time I bought 3 vials and no results. I’m going to a very reputable plastic surgeon’s office and they want me to be happy so they have graciously continued with more Sculptura at no additional cost to me. I started getting injections (using a cannula) in October 2017! No improvement! I’m slated for another appointment in 6 weeks but should I continue??

Hello,It's not about how many visits, its' about how many vials. Your face is very deflated, and could use much more than 3 vials. Your complaint is the number one reason people do not pursue Sculptra after initial use. This product is amazing but expensive.  Most practitioners do not analyze their patients correctly, and therefore don't recommend the proper dosing. Had you walked into an experienced Sculptra injector, they would have said 3 rounds, with the first two rounds using at least 4 to 5 vials. Your doc isn't doing anything wrong, he's just not doing enough. Best of luck!

It takes several weeks and a series of treatments to get desired results with Sculptra. Sculptra is a great product for improving facial volume and collagen building, but for best results, I recommend using it in a combination depending on desired results. I combine Sculptra with other fillers, lasers, toxins and skin care to give immediate results. See an expert. Thank you for your question. Sculptra can take several weeks and a series of treatment to get your desired result. As Sculptra is a polylactic acid it helps stimulate collagen production and results can last 5-7 years. Touch ups may be necessary because of natural aging. If you could post your before and after photos it would be ideal to see if there are any changes. Sculptra is a great product and you look like a great candidate. It is all very unusual.  I would ask them to try combining your next injection with a hyaluronic acid such as Voluma so that you have immediate results.  Best, Dr. Green

Typically, I recommend a series of Sculptra treatments for best results. By series I mean, 3 different treatment sessions performed every 2 months using 1-2 vials per treatment session. For most patients, a minimum of 4-5 vials is necessary. I find that some patients are slow responders. That doesn't mean that the Sculptra does not work but that it may take more time to see the results. Usually, patients start seeing full results at 2 months after their last treatment session although results continue to improve over the 1st year. I'm a big fan of Sculptra. It works, just give it some time.
