I am interested in getting Exilis around my eyes, due to thin, crepey skin and wrinkles.

Question

My concern is that I also suffer from under eye hollowness, which I have been using Restylyne Silk every 6-8 months with success. From what I have been reading about Exilis, it not only tightens skin, it also decreases fat. As much as I would love to diminish my eye wrinkles, I really can't afford to lose anymore fat around my eyes. Would Exilis be a bad option for me? Are there and other procedures that would be better for my situation? Thank you for any advice.

Thank you for your question in regards Exilis treatment. There is a specific hand piece that is used for facial tightening when performing exilis treatments. This will only tighten the skin, not eliminate fat. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

The Exilis facial piece does not burn fat like other pieces do that are used on the abdomen, thighs, arms, etc. It should make the area around your eyes smoother, plumper, and tighter. If it's an option for you, it wouldn't hurt to continue doing Restylane Silk with the Exilis treatments as well.

The area under the eyes can often benefit from rejuvenation. You have not provided pictures so it is difficult to assess your issues. Exilis can help stimulate collagen in the area and soften wrinkles. The facial handpiece does not decrease fat and you could possibly benefit from the treatment. We have had success treating under eye hollows with PRP. This usually requires 2-3 sessions of PRP injections with a cannula.
