Have slight indentation on nose tip resulting from hyfrecation of freckle with poorly healed scabbing, Had done this in past w no scabbing. Now I have very shallow divot on nose tip with freckle/hyperpigmentation within. Feel disfigured now and it looks different depending on how light hits my nose. Would like to explore conservative modality (don’t want to make it worse!) to break up pigment/fill in divot. Will SkinPen be a good option for this? I don’t ever want to scab there again!
Answer: Skinpen Yes! Skinpen is a good option for a skin concern like this. It helps a lot to get rid of scarring and hyperpigmentation. But, it usually takes a couple of sessions. We typically rec. 3 sessions every 4-6 weeks apart. After you are done with the 3 sessions you can also do a chemical peel to help lift up any residual discoloration.

Answer: Skin Pen Hello, I suggest meeting with a provider with experience in filler. Adding some filler to the area could help even out the indentation. As far as the pigment you could try spot treating with the BBL (Broad Band Light). I also suggest trying a chemical peel that addresses pigment. Skin pen is great for treating fine lines, wrinkles, or scarring. Skin Pen helps boost collagen production. -Dr. Joe

Answer: SkinPen for scar on nose Pictures make it difficult to evaluate the depth of scar depression. In person evaluation is always best. The SkinPen can be effective in refining scars but CO2 laser treatment may produce your best outcome. CO2 laser requires longer downtime but it is the "gold standard" of skin resurfacing. It is the most effective. It may take 3 or more SkinPen treatments to achieve the level or improvement you would see with one Co2 laser treatment. You can have a simple IPL ( Intense Pulse Light) treatment to help with pigmentation. This would involve minimal to no downtime. There are many options for skin resurfacing. Choose your provider carefully. Scar treatment can be challenging and may require a combination approach for optimal outcome.
