Acne scarring looks worse after Skinpen microneedling, would more sessions help? (Photos)

Hello, I had 4 sessions of Skin-pen microneedling done one month apart, at a board certified place. Healing each time was uncomplicated. It has now been 4 months since my last session. I feel like my scars look way more pronounced than when I started. I know they said the microneedling can widen scars as it smooths them out, but they just look wider and actually deeper than before. What happened? Do you think more sessions would help improve this?

I'm sorry to hear you did not have improvement from your SkinPen treatments.  You may be a better candidate for laser resurfacting.  This is a more intense way to treat acne scars, but should give you noticeable results.  We also encourage you to use medical grade skin care products like Transform MD and wear sunscreen every day.

This treatment uses a carbon dioxide laser to precisely remove the outer layers of damaged skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting the growth of new, healthy skin. CO2 laser resurfacing can be particularly effective for deeper or more severe scarring, providing more noticeable and lasting results compared to microneedling alone.
