Should I get orbital decompression surgery for subtle proptosis? (Photo)

I had a really stressful event take place that resulted in me putting my body through extreme psychological and physical stress. I noticed the next day my left eye is protruding, my lid looks like it’s dropping, there’s a hideous ring around my eyes and the overall shape has changed. Is orbital decompression surgery possible for getting my eyes back to normal?

You have nailed the diagnosis. You have eyelid ptosis which can be cured by surgery. There are a couple different options, one of which is scarless surgery. Consult with an experienced Oculofacial plastic surgeon (Oculoplastics). Virtual consultations are available. See link below.

Eye asymmetry is complex and can be due to various reasons. You need more detailed evaluation to determine cause or causes and thereby appropriate treatment.
