Will the gap that keep appearing between my front teeth KEEP coming back after my braces are off?

I have had braces on for about a year and a half now. I have a problem where my front teeth keep pulling apart and leaving a gap. My orthodontist puts a rubber band thing around them and pulls them back together but then when he takes it off, like clockwork, it opens again. When my braces are removed in a few months, will this problem continue? How can I stop the gap from coming back?

Your profile will flatten somewhat but you probably will be happy with the change in the position of your teeth and how your profile looks after orthodontic treatment.  You will not look sunken in from this treatment.

You upper lateral incisors, in a normal position, should be one half millimeter shorter than your central incisors.  From your photos, it looks like they are in the correct position now.  Don't be sad.  This is normal.

I agree that you should absolutely not wear the retainers. Call your orthodontist on Monday and get a new set made.
