You could get braces or Invisalign to correct your orthodontic problems. The main difference is compliance. If you use the Invisalign 22 hours a day, you should get similar results.
I think Invisalign or braces would work but you certainly need many more than 10 aligners to get an adequate result. I would also recommend a fixed bonded retainer when the teeth are aligned.
Even in adults, by improving the angulation of the upper front teeth, the lower jaw does move into a better position. I have seen this improv even without the use of elastics. You could use Invisalign or fixed orthodontic braces to straighten your teeth.
Keep wearing it if it still feels snug. If not, skip to the next aligner. If that's too tight or doesn't fit well, go back to the previous aligner.
You have a Class II malocclusion, not a Class I. Palatal expansion is not the correct treatment for you. I would follow the recommendations of your orthodontist who would probably tell you that your narrow upper jaw and your receded lower jaw are related although your asymmetry is probably not. If your jaw problems are that significant, a consultation with an orthognathic surgeon would also be suggested.
