Repaired outie to innie becoming an outie again, can a revision be performed under local anesthesia? (Photos)

Question

Please help. 15 weeks ago I had mini abdominoplasty, with DR repair and umbilical hernia repair. Loved my innie afterwards, but now it seems to become a outie again? Changes happened over the last week or so. I was very careful during my recovery and only started light exercises two weeks ago. What can be the cause of this change and will it be possible to do revision under local anesthesia?

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, it is possible to perform belly button surgery under local anesthesia. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Please let your surgeon examine you to make sure the hernia is still repaired. an examination is needed to see what is the problem and what can be done. It could just be swelling which will go away.

It is possible that your umbilicus was tacked to the abdominal muscles with a dissolving stitch that has since gone away and now the umbo is going back to its original position.  Most times the stitch will stay long enough for it to heal in place but unfortunately sometimes it does not.
