Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. In a case like this one, you need to be a little more conservative.  I would NOT recommend a formal scar revision, but instead favor dermabrasion, micro needling or laser therapy.  Dermabrasion would be the most aggressive and it will take a while for the lower leg to heal from it, but it might also give you the most profound result.Find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist and get an opinion in 3-D.Good Luck!

no treatment with ill be curative or give instant results.  Fillers like bellafill will likely give you the best "quick fix" with long term improvement.  Combine with fractional laser and microneedling and you will get improvement.  Best, Dr. Emer.
