I have to admit that I was one of the very early adopters of threads for threadlifting and even appeared on network television performing it. Threads (back then permanent threads) promised long-lasting results and hence were admittedly very enticing. However, it wasn't long before it became clear that threadlifting was expensive and more like an invasive procedure that entailed one to two weeks of post-treatment downtime. What's more, it soon became clear that the results often didn't last much longer than those obtained with fillers and that the complication rate (infections, spitting out of the threads, skin dimpling and puckering, etc.) were relatively high. For those reasons, I stopped performing threadlifting and did not even restart when dissolving thread were more recently introduced, which seems to have the same rate and kinds of adverse reactions, but, because they are dissolving, cannot even theoretically offer longer-lasting results than their supposedly permanent predecessors. In expert experienced hands, HA fillers have proven safe and effective for both volume replacement and as adjuncts to certain acne scar treatments. You would be wise to keep the aforementioned in mind and to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Hope this helps.
