In general, it is not recommended to have CoolSculpting over a hernia when using the traditional applicators that apply suction to the area. There is fear that this could worsen a hernia. However, a new applicator exists that requires no suction. Theoretically, this applicator should not negatively impact a hernia.
Hernias are specifically to be avoided when doing CoolSculpting. This does not mean you are an unacceptable candidate for this procedure, it only means that the hernia area should not be subjected to the suction cup that is the basic module of the CoolScupting device. One can treat AROUND a hernia (above it, below it, and to the sides of it).
I would not recommend having coolsculpting done in an area where there is a hernia. You should consider hving your hernia repaired as their are risks associated with it.
