I have saggy skin after arm Liposuction. Any suggestions?

Hello, sometimes liposuction in the arms area will make the skin to feel more loosely, specially if it was a big amount of fat suctioned. You still have some time due before you could see a final result but there are different techniques to take some skin out of your arms with minimal scars. Best wishes.

It is very common to have bruising and swelling/irregularities for weeks to months after liposuction procedures. What is most important is that you follow your surgeons post operative instructions and continue compression. If you are concerned, lymphatic massage and Velashape or Venus Legacy treatments can be used to improve the swelling and help the skin tighten. Liposuction of the arms is great for removing fat and shrinking the skin. Whether the skin retracts and tightens after arm liposuction depends on several factors.  A general idea of how elastic the skin is should be determined prior to surgery.  Part of the pre operative discussion should be that if the skin does not retract enough a skin tightening procedure may need to be needed.  As you continue through your healing process, be sure to follow up closely with your surgeon and express your concerns. 

Just three weeks out is too soon for noticeable results.  In addition to the massaging, try to incorporate some arm tightening exercises.  You will notice results over the next few months.  If you are still dissatisfied with the sagging,  you may consider an arm lift procedure to get rid of the excess skin.  This can be done with an axillary approach.  I have done this in my office with a very nice outcome.  Best wishes

Its only been three weeks so its hard to judge.  The symptoms you are having are not unusual and things will often get better over time.  Stay in close contact with your doctor and feel comfortable expressing your concerns. If in six months you have excess or loose skin, then you should discuss options with your surgeon.

The quandary of arm liposuction is that the skin is often very delicate and there is a delicate balance between removal of fat and the skin. At this point you have to let things heal and see how things heal over the next 4-6 months. Good luck.

Unfortunately, arm skin is notorious for being unpredictable. Liposuction, alone, will just remove fat.   In patients with good skin tone, the arm skin my retract or shrink.  Additional modalities like laser- and ultrasonic assisted-liposuction may assist with moderate skin tightening.  At 3 weeks, I agree with your surgeon.   Massage is very important, and it will be several months before you can expect to see the final results.
