Hello,Thank you for your question! Short answer is yes - a BBL is totally possible under local anesthesia. The best candidates are health patients who don't need large amounts of fat transferred (such as yourself) and are OK from an anxiety standpoint in having an awake procedure (i.e. the sights/sounds of the operating room, the occasional sting/burn discomfort, etc). The next best step for you is in an person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Thanks again and good luck in your journey!
Dear fairy200000,every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
We can certainly do a miniBBL without general anesthesia. It is called an epidural plus sedation. Similar to when given birth or a c-section. Sedation can be anywhere from deep sleep to mostly awake. This will depend on the anesthesiologist and what they feel is best.Best of luck,Dr. Miguel Mota
Thank you for your query. I sometimes do mini BBLs and fat injections for hip dips, under local anesthesia and they work out well, as long as the volumes are small. Please find an experienced board certified Plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns. All the best!
Dear Fairy200000, thanks for sharing your concerns. Mostly general anhesticia for BBL is not the one selected, in my practice we use Epidural to work with this cases. But every plastic surgeon has his own protocol which he recommends to his patients. Make sure you go on consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Hope this helps and best of lucks. Dr. Luis Mejia.

Thank you for sharing all these details. I completely understand your concern—fall injuries like this can leave both physical and emotional marks, especially when the tissue looks uneven after healing. -- A hematoma is a collection of blood outside the blood vessels. After the initial b...
Hello and thank you for your question. Your hip dips appear amenable to fat grafting! Fat can be obtained from multiple donor regions if needed (i.e. abdomen, flanks, upper inner thighs, upper inner arms). Even in patients who "don't have a lot" there is enough to make a nice difference in a...
Thank you for your query. There is a short lived surgical smell of the antiseptics and tissues in the immediate post op period but unless there is an infection, necrosis of skin or an open wound there is no long lasting smell after fat transfer. Please discuss this with your experienced board...
Thank you for your question. The safety of having a BBL depends on what type of butt fillers you had. If you had hyaluronic acid fillers, these products gradually dissolve over time. If enough time has passed and your body has absorbed most of the filler, you could proceed with a BBL safely....
You may be a good candidate for a BBL, but you need to be seen by a board certified plastic surgeon to make a proper determination. One thing that must happen is the removal of the illegal product, and replacement with fat. This is often done in scenarios like this one, and is well-tolerated by...
