What's the Downside of Having a Thin Nose?

I wanted a longer and thinner nose but my doctor said that having a thin nose is bad in the long run. He said I would have problems down the road. That it would change drastically and not look good? Is this true? He says this is not told to most patience and its not right because they might be happy now but will not be later on and will not understand what happened to their nose. Can it be addressed later on?

	If your surgery is too aggressive and your nose is made too narrow, it is likely you will experience issues with your breathing. 	I am not sure exactly what you are saying here.  If you have a thin nose then what ever that is done during the surgery will show more.  That is good and bad.  If there is contour abnormality then it will really show, but it also means that not much work is needed to be done to have a big change.  As far as thinning the nose, I am not sure what you mean.  Perhaps what you mean is making the nose more narrow at the base and the tip.  If this is done excessively it may lead to breathing difficulties.

There are many ways of doing thin skinned noses if that is your question. It is difficult to answer without seeing your photos. See an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon and you should not have any problems with the nose in the future.

In regards to rhinoplasty it is very important to have a natural appearing nose from all three dimensions and that breathes adequately. A thin or pinched nasal tip will only lead to further surgery and breathing related problems.
