Will laser gingivectomy give me desired results? (photos)

Question

My smile makes me self conscious and the two front are uneven I want to know if a laser will take off enough to make my teeth look really good. I just got my braces off but my teeth are moderately gummy and I don't know if I can afford a scalpel gingivectomy at 3000 dollars vs laser at 800. Do you think the laser will make a big impact on my smile and give me the desired results or should I try to save up for the big procedure?

Good question and "gummy smiles" plague many but solution is not an easy fix..Yes gingivectomy whether with laser or actual bone removal with resulting gum removal can help but only with deep probing first to see where your bone is relative to where your enamel stops,,This gingivectomy will make your teeth somewhat longer...A more effective treatment would involve repositioning your entire upper arch through orthognathic surgery which raises your entire upper arch and effectively allows you to show more teeth when you smile..Unfortunatley this is not a simple surgery and an excellent periodontist or oral surgeon should be found to perform this...At any rate your upper left central is darker and has higher gum then your right one..Matching color so they are both the same and evening gum height will enhance your smile by just fixing these two problems . The good news is you are very attractive as you are and yet I understand what you want.

Removing excess gum tissue will improve your smile and facial appearance. I would recommend an examination with a dentist who has experience in this field to evaluate your gums and bone level to offer recommendations.
