Does the strength microneedling RF matter if someone is not able to tolerate the pain at a certain high power?

If someone is not able to tolerate the pain of RF microneedling at a certain high power, does performing 2 passes of same RF power at 2x the needle withdrawal speed equivalent to 1 pass of the same power at normal withdrawal speed? Similarly, does performing 2 passes of half RF power equivalent to 1 pass of the original RF power? Is the effectiveness the same in both situations? Thanks!

Morpheus is the top of the line radiofrequency microneedling and is best done under local anesthesia with a little iv sedation for complete comfort and it allows the strong settings which make a world of difference. 1 strong session is probably equal to 3-5 wimpy sessions.

Thanks for your question. You are correct in theory although there is not an exact equation to apply to this. When we turn down the energy of RF micro-needling to a level below what we might consider to be the "usual" or "ideal" level, we can compensate for this by doing additional passes as this will increase the amount of micro-injury and the overall amount of energy delivered to the treatment zone in the form of heat. Total number of pulses is also significant and will vary according to the size of the treatment zone, the percentage of overlap of pulses, etc... This is why it is so important to have your RF microneedling procedure done by a highly experienced and conscientious provider as it is a highly customized procedure with an outcome that is very much dependent on the skills of the operator. For the patient's comfort a topical anesthetic is first used to numb the treatment area.  This allows the medical technician to deliver the optimal treatment while keeping discomfort to a minimum.  Patients report a warming sensation during treatment, as well as pressure and tingling.
