Answer: Filler needs to be reversed Longterm filler problems include migration, edema, and nodularity. Filler migration and permanence is a very common problem because there are many different types of HA fillers on the market and each is specified for a specific part of the face. Use of highly cohesive fillers on thin skin may cause swelling and nodularity. If patients have filler migration or nodules, we recommend a combination approach of filler reversal with enzymes Hylenex and Hyaluronidase in different strengths to dissolve the filler. We may also need to add Kenalog to the mix in order to reduce fibrous tissue. If the filler does not dissolve, it either means the filler is not HA material or we need more enzyme. The HA reversal can be combined with other lasers and skin treatments at the same time, and it usually (usually) does not affect adjacent tissue. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Can filler of almost 3 years be dissolved without causing damage on own tissue? While it's unlikely this is still filler, if there is filler present, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. It won't negatively impact your natural tissue. Hope this helps.

Answer: Dissolution of fillers after 3 years Dear Watermelone,Thank you for your question and sharing you photographs. Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid filler and it is not meant to be permanent. It does last shorter in areas where there is much movement e.g. lips and can stay longer in areas with less movement. The rate at which it is broken down is also different for different individuals so some people may notice that Juvederm lasts 6 months, while others feel like it lasts 9 months. The hyalauronic acids are eventually broken down and reabsorbed by the body. Occasionally, there is some collagen deposited in the skin as a response and some patients have reported that the filler remains there permanently. It is safe to use hyaluronidase to dissolve the fillers in the under eye area and I have had patient who had fillers dissolved 2 years after injection. Speak to your doctor today for an in person consultation to see what can be done to dissolve the fillers.I hope this answers your question. Have a great week ahead and all the best!Dr. Terence Goh Plastic Surgeon, SingaporeMBBS (S'pore), MRCS (Edinburgh), MMed (S’pore)Fellow, Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Plastic Surgery)President, Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons (SAPS)International Member, American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)

Answer: Can filler be dissolved after 3 years Thankyou for your question. You can have the filler dissolved without damaging your own tissue. Sometimes filler under the eyes can require a few treatments . I would go definitely have it dissolved. Good Luck

Answer: Can filler of almost 3 years be dissolved without causing damage on own tissue? Hi Watermelone,While not a magical eraser that can instantly erase what had gone wrong, hyaluronidase when injected properly can dissolve even old filler that has been encapsulated. However, it should not be done too aggressively. The procedure may take 2-3 sessions.Expect some swelling after injecting. Best results are seen after a couple of weeks. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
